How many children are in each group?
The kinder can have a maximum of 22 children, with the group sizes varying each year.
What qualification do your teachers have?
Both our lead teachers hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood.
How do I know if my child is ready for Kinder?
Areas to consider when thinking about sending your child to kindergarten include emotional maturity and social confidence.
Children develop at different rates and learn in different ways. Your child’s kindergarten teacher will plan activities and experiences based on your child’s interest and will help your child develop in all areas.
Speak to your Maternal Child Health Nurse or Kindergarten Teacher if you are unsure of your child’s readiness.
When is my child eligible to start 3 year old Kinder?
Your child must turn 3 years of age by the 30th of April in the year they wish to attend.
Can my child do a second year of 3 year old Kinder?
Your child can only do one year of a funded 3 year old kinder program.
How do I apply for 4 year old Kinder at Windermere?
4 year old kinder at our building is run separate to us by the Knox City Council. To apply you must submit your application and preferences by the dates specified via their KEYS Online System.

My child hasn’t started/finished their toilet learning, can they attend?
Yes! All children are different and reach developmental milestones at different ages. We support all stages of toileting. We do ask that all children are provided with spare clothes (including underwear/pull ups/nappies).
What should my child bring to Kinder?
We have a comprehensive Parent’s Handbook that is shared with all new families when they start with us. It will cover suggestions of what to wear, what to pack in your child’s bag, food, drinks, etc.
Who can pick up/drop off my child from Kinder?
Only those people that are nominated in your child’s enrolment form. These authorised people will need to sign your child in and out using our book that is located at the front of our Kinder.
